Tonedrop privacy policy
Effective 21 October 2026 · Published by Zelicra · Back to the app
The short version
Tonedrop collects nothing. It has no accounts, no analytics, no ads and no servers. Everything it does happens on your device, and the only thing it sends anywhere is sound from your speaker.
Microphone
Tonedrop uses the microphone only while you have switched listening on (Listen, Link, Translate, Codes or Agents). The audio is decoded in memory, on your device, as it arrives. It is not recorded to storage, not uploaded and not shared. Decoded messages are shown on screen and are gone when you close the app.
Files
Files you choose to send are read on your device and turned into sound. Files you receive, and WAV recordings you choose to save, are saved only where you tell the app to save them.
Network
Tonedrop makes no network requests. The Android internet permission is part of the app framework it is built on; the app does not use it to contact any server.
What other people can hear
Sound is a broadcast. Anyone near your speaker can hear and decode what you send, and anyone near your microphone can send to you. Messages are not encrypted and the sender is not verified. Do not send secrets over sound.
Children
Tonedrop is not directed at children and collects no personal information from anyone.
Changes and contact
